Jeanna — Psychology & counselling, Mojácar
Jeanna had been through it before. Bits of websites from different people, a lot of money spent, and nothing she was happy with or proud to send anyone to. By the time we spoke, her main question wasn't 'what will this look like' — it was 'how do I know this won't happen again.'
Not what pages she wanted. What makes her different from every other counsellor within an hour's drive — and who, specifically, she wanted to be sitting in front of.
A site built around her, not around a template. Her words, her approach, her actual practice — with the technical side handled quietly underneath so she never has to think about it.
She's proud of it. After what she'd been through, that was the brief.
"Nobody had ever asked me this before."
"When I came to FoundSpace, I was ready to call it a day. I was disillusioned with people who said they could help me, that they could build a website. I'd spent thousands of pounds on a website I didn't need and that wasn't fit for purpose. One day I sat down with Angus at the big table at the back of DeskSpace, and he said, "Just tell me about you. Tell me what matters to you. Tell me what counselling and psychotherapy are, and why you do it. What's your vision?" Nobody had ever asked me this before. He started writing with his fountain pen, in different colours, which I was very impressed with. But most importantly, he actually listened. He wasn't working out how many words I could say, how many pages I wanted, or how much this was going to cost me. It was just: talk to me, in your words, I'm listening. He put everything I said into my words — not his, and not his interpretation of what I said. He's come up with a website that is actually me. It's all about me, and who I am, and why I want to help people — why I give a service that isn't just counselling or psychotherapy, but a little bit of life coaching along the way. It opened me up to thinking about all the different things I could help people with, from my own experiences. If you've got the tiniest glimmer of an idea that you think nobody wants to listen to, he will listen. He'll take that little idea and run with it, with you, at your pace, and say, "This is what we could do — if this is what you want to do." DeskSpace in itself is already fabulous. It's the best place I've ever found to work, and it's even better because it's got the room at the back where I can see clients, and then be working at my computer looking out onto the sea. It's just amazing. FoundSpace is the silver lining. Between them, Angus and Suzanne offer a wealth and a depth of knowledge, of experience, of tried and tested ways. They're not just business coaches — they've had businesses, and they understand what people want, not what they think you need. They've worked corporately and privately and they've got all the little hacks. When you think you can't do something, they'll say, "Well, have you tried this?" If you keep hitting a wall, they'll show you the way round it — or show you through the door you imagine is closed. For me, they're just shining stars. I wouldn't be able to do what I'm doing, and I certainly wouldn't have a website, if it hadn't been for them."
